This ten-acre garden is open year-round and is an outdoor experience like no other in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. FAQ for Group Tours

Is there a limit to the number of people I can have in my group?
There is no a limit to the number of people you can bring to the Gardens. The Gardens is a 10.5-acre botanical garden with a little over 1-mile of walking trails. There is plenty of room to spread out and enjoy the outdoors as a group.
How much does a self-guided tour cost?

Adults (ages 18 and older): $12.00
Youth (ages 6-17): $8.00
Child (ages 3-5): $4.00
Child (2 and under): free
Dog: $3.00

Full payment is required at time of reservation. For every 20 paying guests, groups receive two (2) complimentary tickets. There are no additional discounts (i.e. Senior or Military) for groups paying together in one transaction. All tours are subject to State of North Carolina tax.

What are the times I can reserve a tour?
The Gardens is open Sunday-Saturday, 9:00am-5:00pm. Tours can be reserved when we open at 9am until 1-hour before closing, at 4:00pm. No tickets will be sold after 4:00pm.
We are closed the day before Thanksgiving Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and the month of January.
Is there a refund and cancellation policy?

No partial or full refunds are given for tours cancelled within two (2) days of the date booked for the tour, unless cancelled by The Elizabethan Gardens. To cancel your tour please contact 252-473-3234 or email giftshopmanager@elizabethangardens.org.

Are there tour additions or options for student field trips?

The following programs are available to add to your tour. Pricing for programs is in addition to general admission rates. For these programs, tours must be booked and paid for 7-days prior to tour date. Any tour addition is dependent on staff availability and dates are not guaranteed.

Butterfly Release- $16.00 per person (all ages)
Sandwich lunch- $15.00 per person (all ages)
Pizza lunch- $15.00 per person (all ages)
Guided Garden Tour- $10.00 per person (all ages)
Garden Spotlight Tour- $10.00 per person (all ages)
Ethnobotany Tour- $16.00 per person (12 and older)
Camellia Tea Tour (February-March only)- $16.00 per person

Guided tour times range between 30-minutes to 1-hour (depending on the length of time the group has available in the Gardens). For groups that want the lunch add-on, there is outdoor seating with picnic tables throughout the Gardens. Field trips for students have different prices and program availability. What about safety and accessibility?

The Gardens’ main path is wheelchair accessible. Restrooms are in Odom Hall and adjacent to the Overlook Terrace. For more information about accessibility and safety please visit this link.

What happens when my group arrives at the Gardens?
When you purchase a self-guided tour, you should receive tickets through email with a confirmation number from ShowClix. This will also give you a QR code to be scanned. Only the tour guide or person in charge should come to the Gift Shop and have their tickets scanned by a staff member. Be sure to have tickets, QR code, or booking information available to give staff on arrival. The tour guide will receive stickers and maps to give each person in the group. Everyone will then enter the Gardens through the Great Gates to the right of the Gift Shop entrance.
