Field Sketching with Kitty Dough

Saturday, April 6th from 10am-1pm

$45 for not-yet-members • $40.50 for members • space is limited
Field sketching is a fun portable pursuit that can become a lifetime avocation. During our morning in the magnificent Elizabethan Gardens, we will learn about observing, taking visual notes quickly, shapes found in nature, and tips for drawing plants. This class is designed for participants 16 and older. Supplies are provided. We recommend that you bring a hat for shade, comfortable clothing, outdoor shoes, sunscreen, insect repellant, and a portable chair or camp stool that you can carry comfortably.

About the Artist
Kitty Dough is a studio artist; a graphic designer and metalsmith; and a member of the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators, the Colored Pencil Society of America, and Dare Arts. She is a graduate of the Art Institute of Atlanta, and she holds a certificate in Botanical Art and Illustration from the N.C. Botanical Gardens in Chapel Hill. Although her 2- and 3-D work incorporates a wide range of subjects, media, and formats, she draws inspiration from her native Outer Banks and always begins with a sketch.
