The Courtyard and Shakespearean Herb Garden

The Courtyard features four large boxwood lined parterres, which showcase a revolving display of seasonal annuals. The parterres are accented by the perennial border filled with ornamental grasses and perennials that do well in our climate.

The highlight of the Courtyard is the Shakespearean Herb Garden. It is a knot garden containing medicinal, culinary and fragrant herbs mentioned in Shakespeare’s works or used by gardeners during the sixteenth century.
